The unexpected expat blogger behind Azure Studio Leaf

Hello, I am Sophie
I’m a project manager. I’m a parent. An expat based in Paris, France.
Several years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to France wasn’t part of the grand plan. Like many international relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The early months were demanding — fresh systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complicated than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines settled in. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and started crafting something that felt stable.
Why I Built Azure Studio Leaf
Most information online was either corporate relocation advice or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in France.
What This Site Does (And Doesn’t Do)
This site IS:
- Real-world knowledge from living in France
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever there is a genuine change
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism-authority resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- A generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in France goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Paris or anywhere in France, please reach out.
Best regards,
Sophie
